Fixed my crashing issues (Dell)
This information is outdated. Do not use.
If you need assistance please start a new thread.
Ok, did this last Sunday and haven't had any crashes since, even with 4+ hour playing sessions nightly. Wanted to wait a few days before saying anything, lets hope I don't jinx myself...
I use to have a crash every day or 2, sometimes up to 3 times a day. Sometimes Blue Screens with no text, other times GW would die and prompt me to report the Error to Anet.
So did the following:
1. Updated my BIOS
2. Uninstalled and Reinstalled my Video Drivers.
ATI 9800 Pro 256M
I had Uninstalled and Reinstalled my Video Drivers before with no luck, so I am thinking the BIOS update did the trick. But then again, there was another update to my Video Card available, so maybe it was something in the latest drivers that fixed the problem.
Anyhow, no crashes for 4 days straight, thats a record for me.
I'll post back if I still get any, this weekend should be the real test.

I was just wondering how exactly to update the BIOS, and what is the best driver to get for a GeForce FX 5200.

I cant seem to find out what type of motherboard I have, all i can find out is that my BIOS is AO5..?
After playing GW for 15 minutues it almost ALWAYS crashes, its really putting me off the game entierly, so if anyone could help I would really apreciate it.
(When i say crash, i mean the game comes to a halt then logs me out).

You can find out information on your hardware by downloading and installing this free program (Everest Home Edition):
http://www.lavalys.com/products/down...?pid=1&lang=en
You can also use this application to generate a report and send it to Anet/NCSoft Support. I would recommend that, in addition to posting on these forums, you report your problem in detail here:
http://support.guildwars.com/
The more information we send them, the better chance they have of addressing the technical issues.
Good luck.

I got a Dell 4600, was on BIOS version A09, upgraded to A12. Think it came out of the box with A06 back when I got it. So if you are having crashing issues with a Dell, updating the BIOS may do the trick.

Yeah, well iv just now upgraded to AO8 from AO5, i havnt had a chance to try GW yet but I will do soon, so hopefully it will have done the trick, if not, i hear that another possible cause of the Err=7 message is having somesort of wireless internet conection, which i do have, so if the problem isnt fixed ill have to try a wired connection.

Didn't crash this weekend, but my screen froze. Took cover off, pointed fan at machine, no more problems all weekend. Looks like I had a heat issue as well. Looks like I need a heatsink.
